A paradise for the outdoor enthusiast, Colorado's Northern Rockies attract a host of adventure-seeking travelers. The area is home to several world-class ski resorts, including Aspen, Vail, Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper Mountain and Steamboat Springs, each with accommodations to suit a range of budgets. Aspen hosts a number of festivals, including the famous Aspen Music Festival Summer Season, which takes place from mid-June to mid-August. In the summer, the snow melts to reveal a plethora of wildflowers, and hikers are eager to take in the region's rugged beauty on miles of trails. BreckenridgeThe area's eastern boundary extends into Rocky Mountain National Park, a popular spot for camping, hiking and cross-country skiing. For a bit of education, visit Cozens Ranch and Stage Stop Museum outside of Winter Park, where local history comes to life through several exhibits, a historic homestead and a replica stagecoach.
