    Tenmile Range
    The Tenmile Range is an extention of the Mosquito Range in Colorado. The range is famous for both its backcountry skiing and its resort areas. Quandary Peak is the highest point in the range with an elevation of 14,265 ft.

    Mount Elbert

    Mount Elbert is found near the towns of Leadville, Aspen and Twin Lakes in the San Isabel National Forest. Standing 14,433 ft (4,399 m) in height, this massive mountain is recognized as Colorado's highest peak and the second highest in the USA. The mountain is enjoyed by hikers, mountain bikers and rock climbers with its range of trail systems leading up the hillside.

    Maroon Bells

    Surrounded by a pristine National Forest reserve and reflected in Maroon Lake, these mountain peaks have become the most photographed in America. Access is limited but bus tours run throughout the summer.

    Mount Massive

    Only 12 ft (3.7 m) shorter than Mount Elbert, Mount Massive reaches 14,421 ft (4396 m) in height, making it the third highest peak in the USA and the second highest in Colorado. Popular activities enjoyed on the mountain are hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, mountaineering and camping. It is located near Leadville, Aspen and Twin Lakes, south of Mount Elbert.

    Directions: Go south on the US 24 from Leadville for 3.6 m (5.75 km) and go west on Colorado 300. Turn south on Lake County 11 and then after 1.8 mi (2.9 km) turn right on a dirt road marked Halfmoon Creek. Follow for 7 mi (11 km) to the Mt. Massive Trailhead parking area.
