    The Continental Divide
The Continental Divide is an imaginary line that runs through the highest Mountain peaks of the Rocky Mountains. On the west side of the Divide the water runs to the Pacific and to the east the rivers and streams run into the Gulf of Mexico. The Divide runs from British Columbia, Canada, through the United States including Montana, Wyoming and Colorado, and continues southward into Mexico and Central America. Whenever the Divide crosses a highway there are markers indicating the location.
