Winter Park at a Glance
Located in Colorado's Northern
Rockies, Winter Park is one of the most popular winter destinations found
in the state. Featuring a large ski
hill that boasts over 130 runs, the resort is also home to all types of accommodation,
as well as trendy restaurants and shops. Not only is Winter Park a popular winter
destination, but it also draws visitors during the summer. The Zephyr
Mountain Express Chairlift takes sightseers and mountain bikers 10,700 ft
(3261 m) to the summit of Winter Park Mountain, where stunning views of the Continental
Divide and the Fraser Valley are enjoyed. Transportation to Winter Park is
made easy with the year-round Ski
Train, which takes passengers between Denver
and Winter Park, dropping them off at the base of the resort. Every July, the
resort hosts the Winter
Park Jazz Festival, which features outdoor performances by some of the biggest
names in contemporary jazz.
